Career Profile
Mary obtained a PhD in Microbiology from University College Cork. She worked as a postdoctoral scientist at the National Food Biotechnology Centre in UCC, and at the University of Ghent, before being employed as a scientific writer by SmithKline Beecham Biologicals in Belgium. On moving back to Ireland, Mary joined Alimentary Health, a UCC spin out company and subsequently worked as a case manager for the BioTransfer Unit and Technology Transfer Office in UCC. She was appointed as IP co-ordinator for FHI in 2008.
